Photography Exhibition - The Red wall garden hotel has an ongoing photography exhibition about the hutongs in Beijing. An eclectic selection of photographers, both Chinese and foreign are contributing to the exhibition. These beautiful images can also be purchased in poster size ( 600-800 CNY) and postcards of every image are also available for sale at 5 CNY.
Our private cars and drivers are at your disposal at the hotel and are ready to take you to any location in Beijing. Private trips can be arranged to the Great Wall and Ming Tombs (about 1 and half hours drive). Our concierge and guest relations staff are happy to help you plan and book any type of trip or activity.

Explore the beautiful and charming Hutong Museum Beijing, newly opened just 50 meters from the hotel. The Hutong Museum is the first of its kind and was founded by the Prince's Foundation, the Charity fund of the Prince of Wales.
The Shijia Hutong, where the Red Wall Garden boutique hotel is located, is one of the most central and picturesque ancient neighborhoods and was chosen by the Prince's Foundation as the pilot project to regenerate and restore this emblematic and lovely historic quarter.
The word "hutong", by the way, simply means "lane or alley way " but its origin comes from the Mongolian term which meant "town". The history of Hutongs can be traced back to the Yuan Dynasty (1271 - 1368)
